I know its not a huge deal but it bugs me and it is common internet standards to only use caps when you are yelling at someone. Most people would take an all caps post the wrong way...

Why not just email the few offenders? Aside from BigMikeyR's weather reports, and a few Texas Hold'em announcements, I haven't really noticed many other postings in all caps; and no one who puts allcaps in the body of the message.
Those few postings that have them seem to want their message of upcoming events to stand out. And, that "shouting "thing is kind of old school Internet thinking--all caps don't seem to carry the stigma they used to, back 'n the day. It's the lack of capitalization and the outrageous misspellings that grind my garters. definatly= definitely there= their cite=site numerous missteps on collegiate names, too and too many more to name... |

One reason you might not see them as much in here is because I've taken to going through and editing the topics names. I've even gone through and retyped a whole paragraph, since the entire thing was in caps.
As for the part about announcements, usually those are cleared by the moderaters/Treymaker and we/he decide it is appropriate or worth the all caps. In that case I can understand the topic being in all caps, but there is really no reason for the body of it to be...I mean if your reading the announcement already there is no reason to try to draw more attention to it... I'm a double major in English and intergrated language arts, and frankly am often times just tired or too lazy to correct some of my own errors, but things like this really bug me and like I said earlier it is NOT that difficult to turn your caps lock off... btw, if everything is in all caps it is very hard to put any emphasis on parts of your sentences, which can be very confusing, and cause others to not understand your point... |

A lot of people find all caps text more difficult to read, especially in paragraph form.
