The football forum says he's out for the rest of the football season, but doesn't say anything about how long after that.

On top of the fracture Troy also dislocated his ankle. The doctor told him he could wait a few weeks and see if it went back in on its own and wait on the leg
to heal or go ahead and have surgery. The Sweeny's decided to have surgery, he had a plate and screws inserted and the ankle reset. He goes in on the 28th
to have his cast removed and xrays to see how it is healing and then they said another 3-6 weeks after that. He is finished for football this season but the
doctor said his leg/ankle will be stronger then before the injury after it heals. Hope he is back to 100% soon, he is a great kid and athlete. The football
team is really going to miss him the rest of the season.

he goes back to doc on 9/28? so then if things go well, 6 weeks is around 11/9 so he should be able to participate on the court this year. Thats good news.
Good luck to Troy and his recovery.

He'd have some rehab to do, I would think, and really have to work on his conditioning.
Agreed on the "great kid" part, balla. I remember talking with him a bit when he was a 14-year-old Babe Ruth all-star player. I just thought he was an excellent young man with a great attitude. |

He should be back for bball, his loss to the football team is huge though. IMO Troy is an All-Ohio caliber player. It will take him some time to catch up
conditioning wise and confidence in the leg will take a little while too. Zanes, he is a great kid and comes from a great family. I have coached troy in bball
since he was little, he is the kind of kid you wish you had ten of every year. I am always amazed at how tough he is, the kid was injured on the first play and
stayed in the game for part of the first quarter. He is important to the bball team this year as he is a very good player, they should be near the top of the
league and losing him would really hurt.

What about Crooksville? How are they looking for the coming year? What are they going to bring to the court?
West? How are they looking for the coming year? What are they going to bring to the court? |

The annual state rules interpretations meeting for coaches and officials has been cancelled. There were no rule changes that affected the game or officiating.
However, it is interesting to note that OHSAA and the NFHS has decided that Instant Replay can be used in State Semi-Final and Final games to decide on
last-second shots, and or 2/3 point decisions.
Also, the "red-ring" end game indicators are now allowed to be used. In prior year, that functionality was disable in all games. Now it will be enabled where possible and will be the primary designation of end of game determination. If the light is not present, the audible horn will be the designated end of game signal. |

Philokid, Is Fulkerson not playing at all, or just not for Philo? What happened? |

Fulkerson goes to Maysville but I was told(by a great source) that he is not going to play this season.

That could really hurt Maysville obviously.
I look to Sheridan to compete for the title, they are a better TEAM than last year. They have kids that will actually play D. And Jake Horsley will be a star, the league will no his name real quick. Also Crane. Call me crazy i could see one if not both going 15 ppg Horsley has the capability to get a double double every time he plays. Danny will help New Lex. I see them getting more wins this year. Maysville, Tri-valley, And John Glenn will be themselves. West and Sheridan have the capability we'll see. 1.Tri-valley 2.Sheridan 3.Maysville 4.John Glenn 5.West 6.Crooksville 7.New Lex 8.Philo 9.Morgan |

Philo is going to be better than everyone thinks. They have 4 seniors that are all ready to actually have a winning season and the juniors are pretty much all
athletes that will compete for starting jobs. I see Philo as a sleeper team to compete in the mvl.

FYI, i was around for most of the games and the athleticism is there, they just need to bond together in the offseason

They are going to be very inexperienced with only one returning player having Varsity Experience. Hopefully Zach Smith will be healed and be ready to play.

I hope he gets healed too. But if you think about it, most teams in the mvl are somewhat inexperienced but the boys at philo all have a year together as a team
and had 2 hard fought games with both sheridan and tri valley and both those teams have most of their jv players moving up as well.
