I guess that was my main question...as to what the overall interest would be. Sounds like folks out here like baseball, but perhaps not enough would be interested in wanting to try to raise the level a tad by competing against some better teams/players from other areas... and thats fine, too. Baseball as a recreation sport does play a particular role in the communities. Lord knows there are worse things that one could spend their time doing...

I certainly understand the circumstances and expectations of our players out here. My kids play multi-sports as well and understand that it is in their best interest to participate in the various activities during the off-season. That was one reason why we are giving up the "travel" programs that go all over the place and play 60-80 games during the summer...it's just to much to do with the other programs requirements. I guess i was hoping that we could find something between Babe Ruth and elite Travel that would provide some of the counties better players with more competitive games while not killing them in the process. I would think good coaches could be found if some didn't want to leave their babe ruth teams. I would also like to think that some arrangements could be made to get some games in at a few local fields. Through JK's post, sounds like money could potentially be found also. But, if player/family buy-in is not probable, then you're right. It doesn't sound like a very likely scenario.
