Not yet. Hoping Quinn gets a real chance to help the Browns play a spoiler role at Paul Brown Stadium. You'll get your time to say "I told you
so" if and when the sweep happens. No betting on this, right?

Never mind, he said "credible"... "If practice makes perfect, and no one is perfect, why
practice?" |

Why is it when I think of Saban, I can only hear the strains of "The Happy Wanderer" in the background?
Anyway ... I guess that you really can't begin to improve until you've hit absolute bottom. Only problem here is that the Browns seem to be continually redefining that definition of absolute bottom. |

Cleveland has to reach up to touch bottom at this point.

I'm trying to understand why the axe has apparently fallen on Kokinis first. He's more Mangini's puppet than a true GM. If Lerner is adamant about
bringing in a STRONG football person as GM, I wonder how long Mangini will then last, since he's basically demanded all control, a la Belichick.

Where is Bernie Kosar? Probably on a nice little getaway with Tammy Longaberger. They did make it out to watch the West M/TV football game. Seriously though I
think he would make a pretty good GM.....he has been around the Browns and the NFL for a long time.

He was hired about 2 weeks ago as a consultant. I don't know as they'd hand the reins over to him as GM, and rumblings out of Cleveland is that Ernie
Accorsi may be brought in as another consultant to help guide this transition or perhaps aid Bernie on his way to becoming GM (Accorsi shot down rumors this
morning that he was coming out of retirement to be the full-time GM in Cleveland).
If a strong-willed GM is hired, Mangini is on ice since I don't think his ego can take just being the coach. But one thing is patently obvious since 1999 -- player personnel decisions have been horrendous for the most part. Heres something really off the wall to think about, though -- Phil Savage is still getting paid for the next four years. What are the chances he comes back in some capacity? Not that it would be the RIGHT move, but that it would be a LERNER move. |

The fact that this team won a game is a miracle in itself. Every Browns fan should have played the lottery that day, I would have done that before I would have
picked them to win a game. It has to be the worst football team I have ever seen. When your kick returner is your best player you know you are in trouble.

I love Bernie as much as anyone, but the hire was purely a charity project. He is bankrupt from bad investment choices and divorce. He was on the verge of
being homeless. I read an interview with him this summer in which he bragged about learning to load a washing machine, and make a pot of coffee all by himself.
He's 45 years old! Probably not the guy I want running my 800 million dollar inheritance.

Human beings are human beings. They say what they want, don't they? They used to say it across the fence while they were hanging wash.
Now they just say it on the Internet.

jda66, maybe you are right. He could consider starting a camp teaching the "side-arm duck" throw!
BigDawg, I would put Cameron Wimbley in that group. He has underachieved after his rookie year but has made progress and has become a pretty good player. |

I'm not saying they were the best character guys, or even the best players when they played in Cleveland, but what did the Browns think was going to happen
when they traded their two biggest offensive threats? (Winslow and Edwards)
