It's a popular topic on the Boy's Basketball forum, so I figured I'd start one here.

Thats a pretty good five but after this year we better find a place for Hannah Luburgh and Carly Young, out of that list they will make #3 and #4 to go to a
D-I college.

Not to be a homer but Carrie Rucker from Maysville would have to be on that list. 2nd all time in the MVL in scoring, led a team with only 1 senior (her), 2
juniors (one who was hurt most of the season but was a good player), and a bunch of scrappy, tough sophomores/freshman to the state tourney.
2X all Ohio USA Today Honorable Mention All American First in scoring for MHS, first in assist (by about 80), and 8th in rebounds. She has the stats to be on the list, but her leadership is what made her a great player.

I think I would add Caroline Mast (Daugherty) River View to the list. Heather Miller - Philo late 90's, and Joanna Cannon - Maysville

Will just toss this name in there because she was so overshadowed during the McKenzie-Slack-Krofft-Smith era -- Sarah Van Horn. In fact, I'd take that five
from those couple of years and be satisfied ... though Rucker and Harris certainly belong in that group. That Mast girl from River View wasn't too bad,
either.

Going back a few years and one that is arguably better than any of those mentioned. If I'm not mistaken Second Team All Big Ten, runner up player of the
year in the state of Ohio her senior year, Ann Mooney of New Lexington. There were also a couple of very good girls from TV and Maysville during that time.
Johanna (Adolph) Cannon may be one that I'm thinking of, but I honestly can't think of other names right now. Another girl that comes to mind would be
Leslie Goldsberry, I think it's now Heller, but I forget her married name for sure, from Sheridan.

Hannah Kanuckel from River View was a very good player.

Sarah Lawrence from Morgan.
She has the school's all time points record. Played at Marietta. |

Ashley Norman was also, very good.Though, she got overshadowed by Harris.

OSH - Maggie Lawrence maybe? She was very good.
DC - good call on Ann Mooney. She was outstanding. Shelly Jorgenson was pretty good too. exphys - Carrie Rucker is very deserving. She was everything you said. Couple other names for consideration: Lisa Green from River View Cheryl Madden from West M |

Whoops...yes. It was Maggie. I couldn't think of her name for the life of me. For some reason Sarah sounded right.
Maggie Lawrence from Morgan. |

I'd have to put Shelly Jorgenson and Margie Hammond (she was a high school all american) in there with Ann Mooney as well.

Mooney, who took a team to the state finals, and Hammond, the best all-around girls' athlete in the past 40 years at NLHS, have to be nominated.

Practically 2 state finals.... after the 84 game between the 2 clubs the OHSAA changed the bracket around in 85 so the only way New Lex and West Holmes would
meet was in the final game. I can't remember the girl's name that was the star for West Holmes but she went on to OSU and was the 1980's version of
Katie Smith.
oops just remembered I'm pretty sure it was Lisa Cline.
