West M overcame a 2-1 deficit with two goals in the final 10ish minutes or so in the game to win 3-2 on the Lady Tornadoes' turf.

Since my Blackberry won't let me edit, I want to clarify something:
West M overcame the 2-1 deficit with goals in the final 3 minutes. It was 2-1 Tri-Valley with 3 minutes left and 3-2 West M with 2 minutes left. Two goals less than a minute apart. Tri Valley had scored its second goal with over 8 minutes left to break the 1-1 tie. |

Great Game Lady Tornadoes!!!
Way to keep working until the end. Niners is correct, West scored at the 2:46 mark and the 2:05 mark in the second half. West scored all three goals in the second half to come back from a 1-0 halftime deficit. This makes the MVL race tight as TV,WM and JG all have one league loss. |

Is it true that West M had to forfeit games for an ineligible player?

Yes, it became official today that all games so far played have been counted as forfeits. Very sorry to see this happen to a team with such potential. Not even
a needed player was the culprit =/. Not sure what happens to stats of opposing teams. Would they not count as just wins?

They get counted as 1-0 victory i believe. Atleast, that is what happened to Afrecentric a few years ago in Basketball. I'm not sure if the other players
get to keep their stats for the game or not.

Who is responsible for that? It is a shame that those girls have to pay for someone else's mistake.

I'd have to believe the Athletic Director and the Coach are responsible for that.

Muskie05-Each school has different people who are suppose to be in charge of checking. This was not an issue of being ineligible for grades it has to do with
credits earned.
According to OHSSA they look to the Guidance Counselors to keep track of this issue. It had all summer to be resolved by the player and/or her parents, since it had to do with the last six week period from last year. Yes, it is a shame that 24 girls had to pay the price for the mistake of several other people, mostly who were adults. BTW, one game, the tie with Marietta was not forfeited since the player did not play in that game. |
