Losing Oz and Smith would hurt any team, but I saw this team a few times during the summer, they've got some good players coming back.

I think the guard play will be fine for this years team. I think the key will be inside. I know they are counting on Chris Brown and Don Click to provide
inside play. I hope Brown has improved since last year. I know he played spring ball to try and get better, will have to wait and see about his improvement.
Been a year or two since Click has played just not sure how good he will be.
I do believe that this years group will be much more of a team. Lots less fighting within the team. I look for them to finish in the top 4 of the league. |

How many football players are expected to contribute at the varsity level? How would a long playoff run affect things?

This team will be fast with a lot of guard and wing play. Brown and Click are generally unproven. If they do well this team can finish near the top of the MVL.
If not they will be in the rearview mirror of JG, New Lex and others.
Brock and Secoy are two of the better guards coming back in the MVL. But they need help. This could well be the year in the MVL where anyone can beat anyone on any given night. Should be a great year for fans of the MVL. |

You will be very very surprised with the improvement of Jordan Wilson, he could possibly be there best all around player this year. With a three guard set
featuring brock, wilson, and secoy they could be very dangerous.

I was talking to a member of the Tornadoes coaching staff the other day and they stated that this should be a more "team" oriented West Muskingum
squad this season.

I expect a three guard set but, the effectiveness of this team will be predicated on each person taking care of his responsibilites and being part of a team
concept. There are roles that must be accepted. May be a different leading scorer each night. I expect this group to be up to the task and put winning first.
Probably be the third/fourth scrimmage before this group starts to pull together given the length of football and soccer season. This shouldn't be a problem. Sounds like practices are as competitive as they have been for a couple years and a lot of hard work is being put in. |
