Should be very competitive with Martha Kunkler being one of the best players in the league.

Many returning (and solid) veterans to this team along with all-star Kunkler. IMO, this team will be exciting and will entice school loyalty. They are
well-coached and by watching them, it is obvious they have good team chemistry. I am looking forward to following this team.

Without a doubt Kunkler is one of the top players in the MVL along with Young, Luburgh, Miller, Poorman etc. Wolfe is solid. Don't know much else. They
will finish in Top 5 to middle of the pack. Can beat most teams if Kunkler is on fire. Which she often is.

Will also have Jrs. Kaitlyn Abram, Sara Murray, Kia Shumaker (all with a few years of experience under their belt), throw in soph. Nicole Shipley (who will
surprise people), and a very good coaching and this team can play with pretty much anyone in the league.

Heard New Lex team numbers were down and also heard rumor they will be living and dying by the 3 point shot. True?

I see three-point quality, no doubt, but Kunkler can take it to the hoop, too. She is one of those rare guards who can post down on the box where defensive
guards are not quite acclimated to positioning themselves there. Murray can handle the point (and shoots well) freeing up Kunkler when she posts low, and Wolfe
plays "big" and gets up and down very well. Abram was an impressive sophomore last season who will only be better this year.

And I thought 22 players 9-12 at Maysville were low. Wow. This team may be wore out by mid season.

Heard this team looked pretty good last night in its first scrimmage vs. Trail. Coach Stephens taking them back to his roots.

there and play the type of ball we're capable of. Looking forward to a more than successfull season...go get em Panthers!

Everyone knows Kunkler and Wolfe. Most years a player of Kunkler's caliber would vie for POY honors. Tough when you have a Luburgh at Tri-Valley and a
Poorman at Maysville. But Ms. Kunkler is right there with them on the first team. IMO.
What is the scoop on the rest of the starters and top bench players? How deep do they go? |

pmkm4 to answer your questio they are not a deep team. There are only 12 players total in the whole program so the word deep is out of the picture.

Sounds like quality not necessarily quantity. Nothing wrong with that as long as you avoid those folks in the stripe shirts.
So the quality is good. Which should put New Lex in the middle to top of the MVL. Good luck Lady Panthers. |

NL handled Lakewood, 46 - 24 if I'm not mistaken. Ball handling showed it was the first time out.

Definitely a typical first game. Move on.
