Both TV and Louisville are hunting for away in 2010 and home in 2011. Olentangy HS (not Orange - that district has/will have 3 HSs) might happen.

Louisville would be interesting. On paper it could be another Lake situation, but TV has shown they can hang with them previously. Olentangy would be a nice
pickup, especially if they can improve and get 4-6 wins next year. They play some D1 teams, so good L2s can be had.

gametimenow ... I don't think it hurts to beat a team that goes 1-9 rather than one that goes 0-10. Unless you have several of them on your schedule ....
alas ....

Maybe SHS could take Licking Heights and Philo could then take Lakewood? If the past 3 years are any sign, this would make for two great games? |

EP12,
The problem with that is Sheridan and LH play at HOME week 1 2010 while Lakewood and Philo both play away. The Philo-LH contract ends next year and they will certainly not renew. LH needs someone to give them more L2 points so they have a better chance making the playoffs. Philo needs someone they can have a competitive game with in week 1. |

teach, I assumed that there would be conflicts with that idea so I guess I was only about half serious. Of course for the right money, I think there have been contracts bought out before?????? |

Yeah. Teams buy out contracts at times. I doubt Philo will do it. Not sure what they set the buyout at, but usually it is between $5,000 to $15,000. Tri-Valley
let RiverView out of the contract (no $), but the last year of the contract was AT RV.

Athletic Dept. funds. That is why buyouts are rare.

Regarding buyouts -- and guarantees. They certainly happen at the HS level, but not to the degree (such as $850,000 to be OSU's whipping team last weekend)
as at the college level.
For example, this year ZHS was given $7,000 to make a return trip to Logan (which allegedly makes a TON of money on football; as a personal aside, they don't spend it no their baseball program). But that money was then turned around to give Beaver Local a guarantee for a one-year deal and also to help convince Gallia Academy and Jackson to keep us on their schedules for this year (as it would have been if we had stayed in "that league"). |

ZV, good info. I thought that those types of things had been done. Just makes more since for all 4 of those schools that were involved in the conversation. I'm sure Lakewood and Philo are just concentrating on having winning seasons while SHS and Licking Heights are thinking playoff points....It might not be as hard as one might think. I even think that Philo played New Lex down there in back to back years because of the contract they had with Heights called for them to play the first year and last year there and the middle two at Philo? |

EP12,
The other way around. When RiverView left the league not many noticed that it left some MVL schools with 3 home and 5 away league games and vice versa (and obviously the other way around the next year). This fall it was corrected where all MVL teams had 4 home and 4 away league games. To do that, Philo played at New Lex, Crooksville at Morgan, and John Glenn at Tri-Valley 2 years in a row. Licking Heights agreed to play H,A,A,H with Philo so that the Electrics had 5 home and 5 away each year. An easier adjustment for LH since they have 3 non-league weeks. |

There is no such thing as a Transitive Property in high school football.

Probably where the "lol" came from.
I know there is a willingness on our part to buy out all he contracts necessary to get ZHS into the ECOL football rotation ASAP, but that would also need to include the same from the various ECOL schools. Easier said than done when it comes to money! |

Looking at the schedule for next year it would be great to get Maysville to play TV week 1 then TV could play Zville week two that would be GREAT!!!! Only bad
thing unless other things could be workerd out is Zville would have to drop LV.
